Flower Jewelry - Lindsay & Justin's Wedding

I met Lindsay just a few weeks before her June 11th wedding, and I was excited about the unique elements she was incorporating into her wedding. So when she asked me to make a bridal flower headband and bridesmaids' floral necklaces, I was eager to make the "flower jewelry." I had never actually seen flower necklaces before, but am always up for a new adventure! And we were all so pleased with how everything turned out - Lindsay and her 'maids wore them beautifully!

Congratulations, Lindsay and Justin!

Julie & Greg's Wedding - October 2015

It's a little overdue, but I'm thrilled to share a very special wedding, of two people very dear to me!

Last fall, my older sister Julie got married to her wonderful now-husband Greg. The day was perfect - it was a crisp, sunny fall day in Pennsylvania, my sister looked gorgeous, and the whole family was there. We had such a fun day celebrating Julie and Greg!

I was honored to not only do my sister's florals, but to be the maid of honor too. It was the first time I ever gave a wedding toast, and I was nervous but made my sister laugh re-enacting some funny childhood memories!

Julie carried a bouquet of lovely fall colors, with burgundy and ivory dahlias, ivory garden roses, apricot roses, peach ranunculus, red spray roses, burgundy mini carnations, orange hypericum, and white limonium. My dad and I went foraging for other fall plants to add into the bouquets to give them a rustic touch.

Congratulations, Julie and Greg! I love you both dearly and am overjoyed that you two are now one!

Lauren & LaRoyce's Norfolk Wedding

It's fitting that the very first wedding to be featured on the Joy in Bloom Blog is of two dear friends of mine!

I've had the joy of being friends with Lauren and LaRoyce for a number of years, and it was an honor to be a part of their gorgeous wedding in Norfolk, VA. We were all involved in the campus ministry InterVarsity (my employer now!) at Old Dominion University. When I was a senior, Lauren was a part of a small group of women I led. I've always been touched by her sweetness and ability to laugh at whatever may come in life, and LaRoyce's creativity and jovial spirit.

They are one of the most laid back couples I know, so naturally, their wedding was casual and super fun, despite some down-pouring rain and poor Lauren experiencing some illness! They went with the flow and we all had a blast!

Lauren carried a bouquet of yellow and white flowers, including carnations, spray roses, hydrangeas, alstroemeria, Queen Anne's lace, billy balls, and dusty miller. Her bridesmaids (what a fun group of women, all friends from college!) carried yellow bouquets of carnations, alstroemeria, mums, billy balls, and dusty miller. Pew bows of blue hydrangeas and baby's breath adorned the aisle, while arrangements of Queen Anne's lace, ferns, baby's breath, and dusty miller were placed on the altar. The reception had baby's breath galore!

Thanks to my friend Dani White, from Dani White Photography, for sharing these stunning photos (she was also the photographer for me and Kester's wedding 3 years ago)!

What a fun wedding to be a part of - congratulations, Lauren and LaRoyce! I wish you many more days together filled with fun and laughter!
